OLEDs Used in General Lighting With the strong manufacturing capabilities and pressure to the adoption and adherence to energy efficient lighting solutions, ElectroniCast Consultants forecast the APAC region to maintain a strong leadership position in relative market share for Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs).
ElectroniCast forecasts that Japan, an innovation leader, to hold-on to the market share leadership position throughout the forecast period (2011-2021). The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is forecast to increase at a faster annual pace versus Japan; however, the average selling prices for the General Lighting OLEDs in the People’s Republic of China are forecast to be (much) lower versus Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the Rest of APAC, especially later in the forecast period (see the Microsoft Excel worksheet in the addendum of this report for more detail).
Republic of Korea – ElectroniCast predicts that the consumption will grow at an impressive rate, since the consumers in Republic of Korea, similar to the Japan market, embrace energy-efficient/lighting innovation.
The People’s Republic of China (PRC) is forecast to be a major manufacturing-base for General Lighting OLED (exporting); however, much of the product will (also) find its way into the domestic marketplace. China is emerging as an important market for OLEDs.
ElectroniCast Consultants also view India, Australia and Singapore as moderate adopters of the OLED-based General Lighting technology represented the bulk of the “Rest of APAC” region.
