Japan - LED Lights on Osaka Tower (Hitachi)

Hitachi Ltd. said on June 20, 2011, it will replace most neon lights for its advertisements on Osaka Tower with light-emitting diodes (LEDs), with the goal to cut electricity consumption by half and contribute to nationwide energy-saving efforts.

Tsūtenkaku (通天閣, Tsūtenkaku), translated in English:  "Tower Reaching Heaven", owned by Tsūtenkaku Kanko Co., Ltd. is a well-known landmark of Osaka, Japan and advertises Hitachi, Ltd. It is located in the Shinsekai district of Naniwa Ward, Ebisu Higashi 1-18-6.  Its total height is 103 m: the main observation deck is at a height of 91 m.
