Politics and Street Lighting             Street Lighting is often purchased by the government (for example local/city governments or State or Federal highway authorities), directly from the manufacturer’s direct sales and even installed by the guidance and direction of the manufacturer (at least during beta-testing/trial periods), even if the manufacturer HQ is from outside of the country.

The street lamp category includes lamps specifically sold for the purpose of walkway, campus, parking-lot lamps, which are similar (exterior) lamps, which are typically affixed on a pole/mast (there are exceptions to the rule – for example roadway lighting in tunnels.

            In 2011, the consumption value of LED-based streetlights and panels reached increase 58% over the value in 2010; the category is forecast increase by a factor of 6x by 2016.
